Located in the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and not far from the economic capital of the Kingdom, El Jadida is a part of Doukala Abda region. Its borders are in:
The northern and north-eastern part, SETTAT
The eastern and south-eastern part, KALAA OF SRAGHNA
The southern part, SAFI
The western and north-western part, The Atlantic Ocean
Throughout its history, El jadida has had many names. It was called Arab or Mazaghan in Amazigh, Rusibis BY Romans, El jadida (The new city) by Moroccans then Mazagan by Portuguese.
Today El Jadida attracts people who are curious to discover its history, its Romans fortified sites, the movies buffs following the path of Orson Welles as well as numerous vacationers and visitors of the horse exhibition.
Nowadays, El Jadida is completely modernised and transformed. Nevertheless, it remains very cultural with its monuments and its historical sites as well as touristical with its wonderful beaches and hotels. During the vacation period (July August), the Moussem Moulay Abd Allah Amghar is celebrated, it does attract hundreds if not millions of visitors.
